our work
Today we read about the Glow Show at the Great Reno Balloon Race. Then we had a Balloon Debate.
Our team thinks that these jobs are the most important:

Our team thinks that the Research Scientist is the most important job because he will help to discover medicine. The second most important person is the Nurse because she will help sick people.
We would throw the Advertising Executive out first because we hate ads and the Bank Manager because he doesn’t give me alone.
Many people go to the desert with their families. But some of them don’t know what things they must bring with him. This is some of the things that you must take with you. First the most importing thing that you must to bring it with you is the first aid box. Because there is no hospital near in the desert. Next you must bring food with you. If you stay in the desert for two days you must take food for more than two days. After that you must check your car and then top up the petrol tank before you go to the desert. Then if you hare a book for camping in the desert to know about the dangers that you ma face in the desert. Don’t forget to bring water with you as you know there is no water in the desert. Make sure you know where you go because there is no signs in the desert. Never take many things with you take only the important thing. Remember to recharge your mobile and take the charger with you for your mobile. Always when you go to a new place you must ask who knows about it or take him with you. Finally you must know if the water and the food will finish soon you must go back. At the end I wish you take a fantastic trip with your family and don’t forget to keep your eyes on your children.

Ideas for fundraising
Our team decided that the best idea is to do a concert and bring a famous singer. The singer is Eitha Al Manhale Salem’s cousin. The concert will be beside the Marina Mall the ticket will cost ten dirhams. After the concert you could pay 10 dirhams to have a picture with him or a autograph for five dirhams.
Do you know why Frankie has some string around her wrist?
Sri Lanka is a very beautiful island. Frankie has been there four times. The first time she had a fantastic holiday with her children.
The second time was six month after the tsunami. She went to build houses because people were still living in tents. She helped to build temporary houses. She liked hammering nails.
She came back to Abu Dhabi and wanted to raise money to build more houses. She jumped out of an aeroplane with HCT teachers and students. On her third trip time she took enough money to build twenty seven temporary houses.
Last summer she went to help build permanent houses. The people were very happy to finally get a good house. They had a special ceremony. The holy man put the string on Frankie's wrist. He said that it would bring luckto the new home.

Cambodia
Cambodia
Today we read about an immigrant family who had lived in America for a long time and were going back to live in Cambodia. Before reading we did an Internet search to find out about Cambodia. It is a country in the South East of Asia, next to Vietnam. 1975 was a very bad time for the Cambodians.
There was a civil war and then pol Pot decided that he wanted everyone to be the same and work on the farms. He forced everyone to leave the cities. Everyone had to walk out including the old and the sick.
Civilian deaths in this period, from executions, disease, exhaustion and starvation, have been estimated at well over two million people. This was more than a quarter of all Cambodians.
